POLYTEC HOLDING AG, has signed an agreement to acquire the moulding business of
Menzolit-Fibron, a subsidiary company of Plastal Holding AB.
Menzolit-Fibron is one of the leading manufacturers of composite parts in Sheet
Moulding Compound (SMC) and Long Fibre Thermoplastics (LFT) for the passenger
car, truck and agricultural vehicle industry and for industrial applications and
achieved sales of EUR 169 million in the moulding business with approx. 1,300
employees in 2006. Headquartered in Kraichgau-Gochsheim, Germany, it operates 8
manufacturing plants located in Germany (5), Slovakia (2) and Turkey (1). 
Menzolit-Fibron as part of the Dynamit Nobel Kunststoff GmbH was acquired by
Plastal Holding AB end of 2005. Plastal is one of the Top 100 automotive
suppliers worldwide with yearly sales in 2006 of approx. EUR 1.5 billion. 
With the acquisition of Menzolit-Fibron, the POLYTEC GROUP not only expands its
geographic presence, but amplifies its customer base and would reach - based on
the figures of 2006 - a turnover of approx. EUR 700 million with approx. 5000
employees. 
The integration into the POLYTEC AUTOMOTIVE COMPOSITES DIVISION forms - based on
the results in 2006 with a turnover of approx. EUR 230 million - the largest
supplier in Europe for moulded composite components, modules and systems with
the main customers DaimlerChrysler Truck Group and Mercedes Car Group, Iveco,
Volvo Global Trucks and Volvo Powertrain, Scania, VW-Group, MAN, John Deere and
others.
After acquisition, POLYTEC GROUP will have operations in 13 countries and 27
manufacturing facilities all over the world.
